This ride is the merger of two rides that I have done, the first being a Mansfield to Merrijig loop and the second, Mt Stirling & Mt Buller Loop. I absolutely loved both these rides so it makes sense to bring them together and make a mega loop (especially if you are strapped for time).

Riding out to Mt Stirling, you’ll enjoy Rifle Butt Rd with rolling countryside and views of Mt Buller & Mt Stirling in the distance. Some absolute scenic treasure out there.

Mt Stirling is a slow and steady slog of about 9 – 10km at about 7% and from there you’ll keep climbing the gravel backroads to Mt Buller where it mellows somewhat. Mind you, there is some rough stuff and you might have to walk a few short sections.

The Mt Buller descent is on tarmac and super fast before enjoying some fantastic country scenery again past Merrijig and back to Mansfield.
